California River Adventures was established to run river trips that are fun, personable, and exciting. With over 30 years of experience, California River Adventures makes every effort possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.
The owners and guides of California River Adventures have over 30 years of experience running whitewater river rafting trips all over the west. These river trips have been both for commercial companies and privately. Our guides have worked at many other companies where they have gained invaluable experience in how to run the best, most fun rafting trips possible. California River Adventures only works with the best guides around. Whether they are running a class V multi-day trip, catching wild trout on a class III - IV river, or just having fun on a family float, they know how to run great river trips, period. All our guides are certified in CPR/1st Aid, and have training in Swift Water Rescue.
Beyond Limits Adventures, Inc. and River Journey LLC (the “Permittees”), are permitted by the U.S. GOVERNMENT and its agencies, including the DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR - BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, and/or US Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, and/or the STATE OF CALIFORNIA and its agencies and political subdivisions including, but not limited to, the DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, and/or the SACRAMENTO MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT, and/or the COUNTY OF EL DORADO, and/or United States Forest Service (each individually and collectively referred to herein as the “Permitter”) to provide whitewater rafting trips and other recreational activities (“activities”) on the South Fork of the American River, Middle Fork of the American River, and Stanislaus River.
Food & Beverages
California River Adventures provides plenty of quality fresh food. All of our meals are prepared by our guides and include an assortment of meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions that you or anyone in your group may have prior to your trip. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
We offer cold water at take-out on all our trips, lemonade and/or water is served at lunches, and our multi-day trips will also have a limited supply of drinks. If you wish to bring your own alcoholic beverages on these trips, you may bring them in unbreakable containers for us to pack in our coolers.
Our Stanislaus River self-guided trips do not include food or beverages but you may bring your own in a water resistant medium sized ice chest.
California River Adventures uses 14 foot self bailing rafts that will fit up to 8 passengers plus a guide. Our PFDs (life jackets) are made specifically for whitewater rivers and are United States Coast Guard approved. Every class 3 and 4 trip also carries a 1st aid kit and river rescue gear in case of emergency.
Our trips include most things that you will need for an enjoyable trip. There will also be items that everyone in your group will need to bring with them. Your reservation confirmation will have a specific gear list of things that you will need to bring.
Our guides work extremely hard to make your trip a memorable and positive experience. Although not expected, a tip is a nice way to show your appreciation.
